Max and the Invaders are a third-wave ska band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, having won multiple WAMI awards.[1][2] and coining the moniker "Brewtown Ska". The group formed in 1987 as The Invaders.

The Invaders has released four full-length albums. Over the years, The Invaders has opened locally for notable artists including The Wailers, The Skatalites, No Doubt, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Suburban Legends, The Supervillains, The Selecter, The Specials, Bad Manners, Fishbone, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less Than Jake, The English Beat, Mustard Plug, and The Toasters[3]

With the release of Runnin' On Fumes in 2014, "Max" Wisniewski changed the band name slightly to reflect his being the remaining founding member. The album was produced by Rob "Bucket" Hingley of The Toasters.[4]
