Mayra Samaniego is a Latin-Canadian computer scientist. She is a cybersecurity and blockchain researcher and professor at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Canada.[1] She is also a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Saskatchewan.[2] Her research focuses on the study of IoT and blockchain technology patterns beyond cryptocurrencies.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
Mayra is a Researcher in the Department of Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada.[11] She works with Dr. Ivar Mendez on how technology can support remote presence healthcare and facilitate the dissemination of medical protocols among health professionals in Saskatchewan, especially in the northern communities. Additionally, her research on technologies to share COVID-19 emergent medical protocols, and support remote medical healthcare is being funded by the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF)[12].
As part of her research, Mayra introduced the concept of Prediction Agriculture (P3A) and leads the research about how blockchain technology can enable sharing agricultural data in Canada.[13][14][15]
Education[edit]
Mayra received her master’s degree in computer science in 2017 from the University of Saskatchewan.[16]
Mayra is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of Saskatchewan.[2]
