Work[edit]
At the age of 14, Bourne began touring with bands and photographing shows often working under the name Meg Bourne. Bourne draws inspiration from the women and her work often highlights the female form through body positivity.[3][4] Her photography style has been compared to that of "early Petra Collins"[5][2] and often centers around themes of voyeurism, pain, weapons, tattoos and sex. Bourne has also said she has a soft spot for "creating and capturing musicians."[6]
Bourne's work has been featured in numerous editorials including Polyester Magazine,[7] Ion Magazine,[4] Leen Magazine,[8] Sister Sister Magazine,[9] Sad Mag and Nakid Magazine, among others.[2][1]
In the Spring of 2015, Bourne participated in Vancouver Eco Fashion Week's 'Thrift Chic Challenge' in which she was one of three hand-picked local stylists who were challenged to create a collection with a $500 budget from Value Village.[10]
Recently Bourne has directed music videos for ACTORS ('Let It Grow'), MALK ('Major Boy') and most recently, The Ballantynes ('My Place Your Town').[11] In 2015 she directed and filmed a music video for the song 'Quick American' by Vancouver-based musician, Jody Glenham and The Dreamers starring Vancouver-based model, Cate Dunk.[1][12][13]
