Melikian-Ouzounian School
The Melikian-Ouzounian School, established in 1921, was the first Armenian School in Cyprus. It was named after two prominent families, Melikian and Ouzounian. Education was closely linked to the Armenian Church Notre Dame de Tyre. In 1963, the Melikian-Ouzounian School was taken over by the Turks after inter-communal fighting between the Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.[1]
