Mercurio Design Lab S.r.l., also known as MDL, is an international lifestyle architectural design firm[1] founded by Massimo Mercurio. The studio was spun-off from the architectural consortium AMA Group which has offices in Italy, China, Singapore and the Philippines.

History[edit]

Three young Italian architects founded the studio MMV in 1967. One of MMV's original founders, Dr. Alfonso Mercurio, set up his own firm, A.M. Architetti. The firm built partnerships in the semiconductor industry,[2] listing among its clients Texas Instruments,[2] Advanced Micro Devices,[3] and STMicroelectronics.[4] Beyond that industry, AMA Group also worked on the Milan Stock Exchange redevelopment,[5] as well as boutiques of French luxury conglomerate Cartier.

In 1995, A.M. Architetti expanded in the Far East through A.M. Associates, with an office in Singapore to keep abreast of the regional market, and A.M. Architects to handle all architectural services in Singapore.

Mercurio Design Lab was conceived in 2007 as a distinct studio with a certain independence and new characteristics.[6] Under the A.M. Architetti (AMA) Group, Mercurio Design Lab has a strong presence in Asia,[7] and has an portfolio of villas, country clubs, commercial high-rises and residential complexes particularly in Singapore and China.
