History
Meridean Overseas Education was founded by Amar Bahada, an entrepreneur and TEDx speaker.[1][2] The company started in 2015 with an initial investment of 500,000. Initially, the company provided test preparation courses and university application support.[3]
The company opened its first overseas office in Dubai and later expanded into 10 other countries by opening offices and language centers across Canada, US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, and Germany.[4] The company also launched a scholarship program called the Meridean Excellence Scholarship for students in Italy.[1] In the same year, the company rolled out the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) platform, an initiative to provide a range of materials covering all aspects of the IELTS test.[5]
In 2023, the company announced that it had partnerships with over 100 education institutions, including the University of East London, the University of St. Thomas, Amity University, and Mount Saint Vincent University.[4]
The company reported a revenue of ₹1 billion in FY 2022.[1]
