Development[edit]
Talks of the continuation of the Merman Academy series began in early-mid 2018, right after the series just ended, when Jabari Leggette showed interest in creating a film series. The idea was scraped until September 2019, when Zeke Taylor decided to work on the script with some friends.
Casting[edit]
Casting was pretty easy. The cast of the original series came back to reprise their roles.
Filming[edit]
Principal photography began in late November 2019, with filming locations including Sherwood and Jacksonville, Arkansas and in Kissimmee, Florida. Filming wrapped up in December 2019. And post-production began on May 29, 2020 and wrapped up on June 23, 2020.
