Miaseen (Armenian: Միասին) is an American Internet mass media entertainment company with a focus on digital media. Based in Glendale, California, Miaseen was founded in 2020 by Anthony Dikran Abaci "to better articulate the complexities of what it means to be Armenian."[1]
History
Just a few weeks after Miaseen began the casting process for "The Armenian Dating Show" in 2020, Azerbaijan attacked the Armenian-populated Republic of Artsakh, setting off a 44-day war that would impact Armenian communities worldwide. In the midst of this turmoil, Miaseen temporarily halted the online casting campaign, but continued excitement for the show resulted in a shift for Miaseen to also produce awareness of issues affecting Armenians.[2]
In 2021, Miaseen accompanied non-profit relief organization Kooyrigs to document the stories of displaced mothers in the Armenian town of Goris in director Hovig Kazandjian's film “Mothers of Goris.” The documentary specifically highlights Project Mayreeg, an initiative started by Kooyrigs that provides ongoing support to families with newborns who have been impacted by the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War.[3]
Events
In November 2022, Miaseen hosted a backgammon tournament in support of the Children of Armenia Fund. [4]
Miaseen hosts music-focused events, such as KEF TIME LA, which focused on Armenian folk music.[5]
