Michael A. O'Connor

Michael A. O'Connor is the former mayor of Berwyn, Illinois. He was elected in April 2005 defeating Republican Anthony Castrogiovanni, Democrat Michael Woodward, and Independent Raymond Fron. O'Connor faced Republican Anthony Castrogiovanni, Democrat Robert Lovero, and Independent Alex Bojovic in the April 7th general election.[1] O'Connor was defeated by Robert Lovero in his bid for re-election on April 7, 2009 [2]

Once a member of the Berwyn Democratic Party, O'Connor was elected under the banner of his newly created Independent Voters of Berwyn party. As the chairman of the Independent Voters of Berwyn, O'Connor won the February 24, 2009 Primary Election over challenger John Meshek. O'Connor won with roughly 69 percent of the vote.[3] O'Connor lost the general election with 41% of the vote [2]
