Michael Ceraso

Michael Ceraso is an American political consultant and campaign manager.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Ceraso received an associate degree in history from Citrus Community College in Glendora, California and later earned a bachelor’s in Political Science and Government from Pitzer College in Claremont, California.[1]

Career[edit]

Ceraso worked as a field director in President Obama’s 2008 in New Mexico.[2] In 2012 he served as Deputy Field Director of New Hampshire for President Obama’s reelection campaign.[3]

Ceraso served as Senator Bernie Sanders’ California state director during his 2016 Presidential Campaign.[4] He parted ways with the campaign over strategic disputes.[5][6]

Ceraso founded Winning Margins, a political consulting and public relations firms, in 2017 to help under-funded candidates in underserved communities. He has worked for down ballot candidates in Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, California, New Hampshire, Florida, and Washington D.C.[7]

Ceraso ran unsuccessfully for Claremont City Council in 2018 and 2020.[8][9]

Ceraso served as the State Director and New Hampshire Campaign Manager for Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigeg for three months before an amicable split.[10]

In March 2020, he co-founded and is president of Community Groundwork, a 501(c)(3) organization to train and mentor community college students interested in a civic career.[11]
