Michael David Mogan MBE (born 1969) is a British fundraising consultant from Coventry, England. He served as Fundraising Director of the Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 bid team from 2014, a role described in press reports as significant in Coventry winning the designation in December 2017.[1][2] In June 2018, Mogan was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to charitable fundraising in the United Kingdom and abroad.[3][4] He previously served as Development Director at Coventry Cathedral from 1996 and later founded the fundraising consultancy Mogan and Mogan in 2010.[5] The fundraising team he led won the Best Supporter/Membership Scheme at the Emcees Awards, run by the National Arts Fundraising School, in recognition of the City of Culture bid campaign.[6] Following the Coventry City of Culture Trust entering administration in 2023, Mogan spoke to The Times about the management of the trust, stating that costs had spiralled and "vast sums" had been spent on London-based consultants.[7]
