Michael M. Conti (2017)

Michael M. Conti (born June 1962) is an American filmmaker, director, producer, inventor and writer who resides in Boulder, Colorado.[1] As a producer for Interplay Productions, Conti was Awarded Two Cybermania Awards from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences for SimCity Enhanced CD-ROM on November 5, 1994.[2] For his work as a program manager for Intel, Conti received a technology patent for his work on Intel Play's Digital Movie Creator.

As an independent filmmaker, Conti has produced two documentaries that "explore the wellness and spiritual connection to creativity, nature and science.[3] His first film, The Unruly Mystic: Saint Hildegard (2014) premiered in Constance, Germany, and screened by invitation at Harvard University.[4] [5] "Conti found personal direction in Saint Hildegard's example and dedicated a film to the magistra's legacy and her impact on numerous people he interviewed-healers, performers including Linn Maxwell Keller, artists, and academics, including myself" wrote Dr. Beverly Mayne Kienzle.[6] Conti screened The Unruly Mystic: John Muir theatrically in 2018.[7] The film is listed as part of the Sierra Club's, John Muir Exhibit, Film and Video, Bibliography.[8]

The Intel Play product line, developed and jointly marketed by Intel and Mattel, was a product line of consumer "toy" electronic devices. The other toys were the Digital Movie Creator, the Computer Sound Morpher, and the Me2Cam. [11] [12] Michael M. Conti was hired in 1999 to become the Mattel producer for the Digital Movie Creator, and is listed as the inventor for an Intel assigned technology patent on the "Information display status indicator." [13]

The Shoot Out 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival[edit]

The Shoot Out 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival, launched in Newcastle, Australia in 1998.[14] The Shoot Out 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival challenged participants to make a film in 24 hours, using in-camera editing only. The first version to run outside of Australia/New Zealand was in Boulder, Colorado when Michael M. Conti produced The Shoot Out Boulder. That annual event ran for nine years from 2004 until 2012. It is listed in the 2010 World Trip Planner published by The Guardian U.K. to "the world's hottest tickets and little-known events." [15] [16]
