Michael Petr is a Czech-American professional Latin and ballroom dancer, choreographer, song-writer and singer.[2]
As a professional ballroom dancer he was in the Top 5 of the European 10 Dance, Latin Showdance,[3] and World Salsa and Mambo Championships. [4]
He has appeared numerous times on TV and Radio, was a celebrity dance partner on the reality TV series “StarDance" (European version of "Dancing with the Stars") [5], dancer on the dance TV Show So You Think You Can Dance in the United States. [6]
He was awarded Top 10 Dance Teacher for the World Pro/Am DanceSport Series,[7][8] this series consist of over 90 professional dancesport competitions and has over 2000 teachers compete in it. It is the biggest Pro/Am dance competition series in the world.
He won 4 times Top Dance Teacher Award for the California Gold Rush Dancesport Series in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. [9] Gold Rush Series is made out of 14 dance competitions with over 500 teachers throughout the calendar year. It is the top ballroom dance teacher award for the West Coast region of USA.
In 2017 Michael was a judge for a Czech music program "UKAŽ SE!", which evaluates new and upcoming musicians and their music videos, during which time he announced that he is working on his first studio solo album.[10]
