Michael Conrad Zargham (born 23 March 1985) is an American complex systems scientist and entrepreneur who is best known as one of the founders of the discipline of Token Engineering and for the work on cryptocurrency simulations, which involved the creation of cadCAD and Generalized Dynamical Systems. Currently, he's the CEO of BlockScience and an visiting researcher at the Crypto-economics Institute - Vienna University of Economics and Business.. Additionaly, he's a principal investigator of the Metagovernance Project. [1][2] [3] [4] [5]

Early life[edit]

Zargham was born at Troy, NY. He attended the Hudson Valley Community College and graduated from the Dartmouth College with a BE on Engineering Science, being advised by Reza Olfati-Saber on Robotics. He then proceed to perform his MSE and PhD studies at University of Pennsylvania on Electrical and Systems Engineering, focusing on the technical domain of decentralized optimization and control, as well as network science applied to Operations Research while being advised by Ali Jadbabaie.[6] [7]

Career[edit]

Initially, Zargham worked on a variety of scientific and engineering jobs, from investigating composite materials on Starfire Systems to being a founder and CTO of LBRY, a decentralized peer-to-peer media distribution platform. Beginning on 2018, Zargham helped to create the Token Engineering field of study, which resulted on the creation of BlockScience, a R&D firm for applying the Token Engineering principles for designing sustainable decentralized cryptocurrencies.
