Michele Briamonte

Michele Briamonte is an Italian sportsman and attorney, capital market senior advisor and public affairs expert. He is the managing partner of the international law firm Grande Stevens and the founding partner of the Grande Stevens International llp; he is Chairman of the Italian Royal Residences and vice-president of the Association of European Royal Residences (ARRE). Briamonte is a senior member of the Board of Directors of the international think tank Astrid and he serves as Deputy Chairman of the Israeli-Italian Chamber of Commerce. His practice focuses on capital markets, banking and finance and mergers and acquisitions.[1]

Education

Briamonte graduated in Law with honors (magna cum laude) at the Italian university Università degli Studi di Torino and at the Cornell University School of Law (magna cum laude). In 2003 he was admitted to the Bar Association, as best newly qualified lawyer for 2002/2003, allowing him to practice law in Italy. He further advanced in his career and was admitted to the Italian Supreme Courts (Corte di Cassazione and Consiglio di Stato) in 2005, enabling him to plead before the Supreme Judicial Courts. He has also been a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) since 2005.[2]

Briamonte began his professional legal career in 1999 in Italy and has since developed an international profile.[3] He is currently managing partner of Grande Stevens and founding partner of the Grande Stevens International llp with offices in Turin, Milan, Rome and London. He is a top-rated Italian qualified lawyer with 25+ years of experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and white-collar crimes. His litigation portfolio includes both civil and sports arbitration, positioning him as a multidisciplinary legal professional.[4]

Briamonte’s skills and experience are not confined to the legal and advisory sector. Since before the age of thirty, he has been and continues to be a member of numerous boards of directors of major listed companies (IT Holding, Juventus FC, MPS- Banca del Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Exor) and high-profile cultural institutions (Italian-Israeli Chamber of Commerce, University UniRoma IV Foro Italico, Astrid Foundation).[5]

Since January 2022, he has been the President of Consorzio delle Residenze Reali Sabaude, appointed jointly by a decree from the Minister of Culture and the Governor of the Piedmont region.[6] The new management approach, aimed at achieving financial independence by increasing typical revenue streams, in 2024, for the first time in its history, the Consorzio generated more revenue from its own activities than from subsidies provided by partners and public institutions, making it capable of sustaining its core operations independently.[7]

In September 2024 Briamonte received, among others, the honorary title of ‘Alfiere del Made in Italy’ for having enhanced the Italian culture, finance and glamour abroad and internationally.[8]

In 2025 Briamonte was also appointed vice-president of the Association of European Royal Residences (ARRE) during its General Assembly in Madrid.[9] He is the first Italian to hold this role. As part of his responsibilities, he advocated for the 2026 General Assembly to be held at the Reggia di Venaria (Royal Palace of Venaria), one of Italy’s prominent royal sites.[10]

Sport international achievements, others interests and awards

Outside his legal and cultural career, Briamonte holds a 2nd Dan black belt in Karate, is a certified kickboxing instructor, and has a worldwide reputation in Kickboxing, ultimately becoming the WKF World Champion in the 70 kg weight class.[11] For his special sports merits Briamonte has been granted the prestigious and rare Sport Merit Award - High Merit in Sport for his special merits achieved in Kick-boxing during 25 years of agonistic activities, issued by CONI – FIKBMS.[12] Briamonte is also a NATO-certified helicopter pilot.[13]
