Mike Bona is an American mixer, engineer and owner of The Mix Palace recording studios (formerly named The Music Palace recording studios) located on Long Island, New York.[1]
Mike Bona gained notoriety for recording and mixing Public Enemy's biggest sellers "Fear of a Black Planet" and "Apocalypse 91".[2]. As well as, recording and mixing Redman's "Dare Iz a Darkside".[3]
Career[edit]
In 1990, Mike Bona founded The Music Palace (currently known as The Mix Palace) recording studios located on Long Island, New York.[4] The acoustic designer, Tom Hidley, was hired to design the 8,000 square foot complex.[5] Albums such as Nas' "I Am", Busta Rhymes' "Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check", Daryl Hall & John Oates' "Change Of Season", LL Cool J's "Mr. Smith", Chuck D's "Autobiography Of Mistachuck", Vanessa Williams' "The Right Stuff", Keith Murray's "The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World", Salt 'N Pepa's "Brand New", Joan Jett And The Blackheart's "Greatest Hits", Color Me Badd's "Time And Chance", and Das EFX's "Real Hip Hop" were recorded at the studio.
