Michael David Heller is an American entrepreneur, marketing executive, entertainment attorney[1][2][3] and venture capitalist.[4][5]

Early life[edit]

Heller was born in 1976 and grew up in New York where he studied at the Browning High School. At age 16, he opened a private membership club at an Upper East Side townhouse.[6] He completed his undergraduate degree at New York University, and attended Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.[7] While at law school, Heller founded 4 Degrees, a marketing and events company, with Richie Akiva, Scott Sartiano and Jeff Goldstein.[8] The company produced experiential activations for Mariah Carey's Grammy Award party in 2006 as well as the singer's New Years Eve Party hosted by Ryan Seacrest.[9]

Career[edit]

Heller began his career as a nightlife promoter and co-owner of several nightclubs in the Hamptons. In the early 2000s, he switched to entertainment law. As a third-generation attorney, Heller negotiated commercial campaigns for celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Avril Lavigne.[1][3][10] Heller eventually left his legal practice to become Lohan's full-time commercial manager and negotiated a number of commercial deals with brands, including Jill Stuart, Miu Miu, and Louis Vuitton.[2]

Heller founded the New York City-based Talent Resources in 2007, and eventually launched its sister companies, Talent Resources Sports and Talent Resources Ventures. He later created Talent Resources Holdings which comprises all three companies.[4] Business Insider described Talent Resources as "an integrated marketing company that is pairing celebrities with brands and brands with events."[2] The company has worked on product placement, celebrity appearances and brand endorsements[3] for several events including Super Bowl "Big Game Weekend",[11] Sundance Film Festival, Kentucky Derby, NBA All-Star Game and New York Fashion Week.[3][2] It has satellite offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, London and Dubai.[12]

In January 2021, MusclePharm Corporation appointed Heller to its board of directors.[13]
