The Milan Red was a planned supercar from the Austrian car manufacturer Milan Automotive, founded in Leobersdorf, Austria in 2017. Due to ongoing investigations against CEO Markus Daniel Fux for fraud, the car will not go into series production. [1]

History[edit]

The vehicle was unveiled at Burg Kreuzenstein in Lower Austria on July 27, 2018. A total of 99 examples of the super sports car were to be built, which can be extensively customized. [2] A five-year carefree package was planned for the Milan Red with a "flying doctor service" that would take effect worldwide. Thanks to advanced telemetry, as used in motorsport, a remote diagnosis request would be sent to the vehicle if necessary, and the appropriate engineer would be notified. The vehicle is named after the red kite bird of prey. [3]

Technic[edit]

The vehicle's monocoque with flanged crash structures and aggregate supports and body are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). All wheels are individually suspended on double wishbones, the wheel carriers are made of titanium and the wishbones are made of CFRP. The car decelerates with a carbon-ceramic braking system from Brembo.

The Milan Red is powered by a 975 kW (1325 hp) 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine with a quad-turbocharger from AVL List. The vehicle is said to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.47 seconds, with a top speed of more than 400 km/h (124 mph). [4]

Fraud allegation and conviction[edit]

On February 11, 2019, the owner of the company Markus Daniel Fux was taken into custody. He is accused of defrauding several investors of millions. As a result, insolvency was filed on March 27, 2019, and the company was closed the following day. After a change of defense counsel, Fux confessed to the charges and was sentenced to four years in prison. The verdict is not yet final. His previous suspended sentences of 18 months were revoked. In the event of a final conviction, a total prison sentence of more than five years will be due. [5] [6]

To deceive the total of seven investors, Fux used the names of celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Prince Albert of Monaco, Sheikh Talib bin Saqr al-Qasimi and Wolfgang Porsche. On the part of this group of people, there were supposed to have already been investment or purchase commitments. On a large scale, he used the name of Siegfried Wolf, an entrepreneur who was very well known in the automobile industry. He repeatedly stated that Wolf would manage the project and would soon make promised investments. [7]
