Geography and population[edit]
Mile 17 is the gateway to Buea Fako Division and the other five divisions of the Southwest Region. Prior to the tarring of the Mutengene-Muea-Kumba road, Mile 17 used to carry a pitiful image. For instance, the roundabout's surrounding used to be enclosed with banisters. Some of the whitewash had completely fallen off while others were broken with pieces littering the area.[4]
Most of the inhabitants in that area are mostly Christians.
