Biography

Markovic, born in Yugoslavia, was an ethnic Serb boxer who immigrated to Sweden, winning a boxing championship title in Sweden in 1977. He was naturalized in 1982.[3]

Besides his sporting career, he engaged in running a sex club. He was convicted of assault, preparation of blackmail, tax fraud and narcotic crimes.[vague] Charges were also brought against him after police searches at his Privé sex club in Stockholm.[why?][2][4]

Markovic's name came up as one of the alleged sources[5] for a controversial book authored by Thomas Sjöberg, Deanne Rauscher and Tove Meyer titled Carl XVI Gustaf – Den motvillige monarken, a biographical book about King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden published in November 2010.[6] In May 2011, Markovic further claimed he was in possession of compromising photographs of the King of Sweden while visiting sex clubs in the 1980s.[6][7]

In 2012, Beata Hansson and Deanne Rauscher published a biography titled Mille Markovic. Biografin.[5]

Death

On 23 January 2014, Markovic was targeted with four gunshots in Ulvsunda, a western suburb of Stockholm and was fatally wounded in the head. The Swedish police found him on the driver's seat of his car, but his life could not be saved.[1]
