Mirek Bodnar (born September 22, 1985) is a Ukrainian poet and translator.
He was a participant of the festivals Potiah do Yaremche (Train to Yaremche), Ekle, Meridian Czernowitz, Bereznevi koty (Cats of March), Arsenal Book Festival.
He was a founder and participant of musical and visual projects Franshyza and 11 veresnia (September 11).
He translates poetry from English and Polish.
He lives in Ivano-Frankivsk.
From October 2010 to July 2014 he lived in Lviv.
Literary work[edit]
As a poet Mirek Bodnar made his debut in November 2008 with a selection of poems in the Internet project of the Central European periodical Potiah 76 (Train 76).
He published his first poetry collections on the free electronic platform Issuu.
He translates into Ukrainian poems of Robinson Jeffers, Jim Morrison, Gary Snyder, Rafał Wojaczek, Marcin Świetlicki, Jacek Podsiadło and also lyrics of Ian Curtis and Nick Cave.
Some poems of the author are translated into English, German and Polish.
In June 2015 Mirek Bodnar won the all-Ukrainian translation contest Metaphora with his translations of works of American and Polish poets.
