Miscalculation (Israel)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Miscalculation is a concept which the Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar used for avoiding deploying Israeli forces around the Gaza Strip before the Hamas's October 7 attack.[1] Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, used this term in his affidavit[2] to the High Court in Israel, dealing with the dismissal of Bar, when he accused Bar of the erroneous Conception [he] of "preserving quiet in Gaza at any price".[1][3][4]

Bar stated that Netanyahu's affidavit was skewed and brimming with half-truths and inaccuracies.[5][6] Bar also notified that he would end his role on 15 June 2025.[7][8]

Matanyahu Englman, The State Comptroller of Israel, requested from the Israel Defense Forces documents which dealt with 5–8 October 2023. He addressed Herzi Halevi, the former Chief of the General Staff; Avi Gil, the Military Secretary to the Prime Minister; the Military Intelligence Directorate; Unit 8200 officer; Southern Command and the Israeli Air Force.[9]
