Mischaela Elkins (born 27 March 1989 in the United States) is an American/Peruvian model, businesswoman, author, former Miss Peru, and winner of the beauty contest Ms. Universe 2021. Mischaela is the first and only Miss Peru to be a member of MENSA High IQ Society.[1]
She made history as the first to carry a National level Indigenous or Native American beauty pageant title onto an International level pageant stage, when she was crowned Miss Indigenous America and sent to the Miss Global beauty pageant in Bali, Indonesia in 2022. Mischaela Elkins, Quannah Chasinghorse, Ashley Callingbull, and Mariah Watchman are referred to by the media as the Indigenous supermodels.[2]
Early life and education[edit]
She studied Business Administration at Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and later received her MBA from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain.[3]
Modeling[edit]
Mischaela began modeling as a teenager and has worked in both print and runway for fashion, beauty, and swim brands. She has modeled most notably for Vera Wang, Cle de Peau, Graff, and Paloma Blanca.[4]
In the swim category Mischaela has served as a model and brand ambassador for Luli Fama, Beach Bunny Swimwear, Agua Bendita, and Vizcaya Swimwear.[5]
Mischaela serves as a brand ambassador for Intimissimi's "In Action" organic cotton athletic wear line, for LA MER and L'Oreal, and was nominated for a "Bombshell Because" award appearing in the Victoria's Secret Bombshell's Day campaign.[6]
Mischaela has appeared on multiple international magazine covers in the US, UK, France, and Australia. She has appeared in Vogue Italia, Lucky, Glamour, and Vanity Fair and worked with VOGUE and Maxim published fashion photographers Scott Schuman, Kirsten Miccoli, and Blake Martin. Her off duty model style has appeared in South Korea's "Cracker Your Wardrobe" and on The Sartorialist.[7]
Mischaela was trained and developed for runway by Mandy Dyonne. Dyonne has trained models for Chanel, Dior, Fendi, and Prada runways as well as for the Elite Model Look contest and works with agencies such as NEXT, Elite, The Society and more on model development.[8]

Miss Model Beauty Peru 2020[edit]
Mischaela entered Miss Model Beauty Peru, representing the Lima region in October of 2020.[9] She won the Miss Model Beauty Peru national title in 2020, and received the following special awards:

Miss Elite Beauty Peru 2021[edit]
Miss Elite Beauty Lima 2021 In March of 2021 Mischaela entered Miss Elite Beauty Peru, and once again represented the Lima region.[10]

Miss Peru 2021[edit]
In the lead up to Miss Peru, Mischaela was prepared in mindset, public speaking, and interview by Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova. Mischaela's training in grooming, cosmetics, styling, and general presentation was conducted by former Miss Earth India 2001 Shamita Singha of The Refinery in Mumbai, India. Singha leads a team that helped prepare and groom both Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai. Shamita Singha has prepared countless Miss India and Miss Diva contestants and titleholders.[11]
In the Summer of 2020 Mischaela was crowned Miss Peru 2021 in two rounds each of qualifications and eliminations. She was announced to represent the Miss Peru title as the Peruvian delegate to the 15th Anniversary Ms. World International and Ms. Universe joint pageant in Hollywood, Florida.[12]

Ms. Universe 2021[edit]
Mischaela represented the Miss Peru title at Ms. World International and Ms. Universe in the 15th Anniversary edition of the pageant at The Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Florida. She was 1 of 50 delegates from around the world.[13]
Mischaela was crowned Ms. Universe 2021 succeeding Miss Russia Leyla Mugurova who was the 2019-2020 Ms. Universe titleholder.
Miss Global[edit]
Miss Global Indigenous America 2021[edit]
In Bali, Indonesia in November 2021 Mischaela Elkins is set to represent the Miss Indigenous America title along with 80 other international delegates in the 2021 edition of Miss Global. She will be the first woman in history to carry a National level Indigenous American or Native American title into an International beauty pageant competition.[14]
Miss Global 2021[edit]
Mischaela will represent the Miss Indigenous America title at Miss Global 2021 in Bali, Indonesia. She is 1 of 80 delegates to the international beauty pageant.[15]
