Misogikyo (禊教) is a Sect Shinto organization and one of the thirteen shinto sects.[1]
It is considered a "purification sect" alongside Shinshu-kyo.[2]
It's name literally means Misogi religion
The group is quite obscure today[3] It is very ritual focused with little theoretical theology. In this way it contrasts with Yoshida Shinto.[3] It emphasizes right state of mind and self control[3] It has influence from Confucian Shinto but is its own tradition[3]
