Miss Charm is an annual beauty pageant that was held for the first time in 1989 in the Soviet Union (now Russia). The contest was organized by a group of private entrepreneurs from Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. After an absence of 30 years, the contest returns again with new owners of Vietnam.[1][2][3]

Miss Charm International 1989 brought together former candidates and representatives who had participated in other important competitions such as Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss International among others. In the first edition Meltem Hakarar, representative of Turkey, 19 years and 1.82 cm was crowned as the first Miss Charm International 1989. A year ago she represented Turkey in Miss Universe 1988.

The contest was only held for two years in 1989 and 1990, due to scandals within the organization it was no longer carried out.[5]
