Miss Eco International is an annual international female beauty contest.[1][2][3]
The current Miss Eco International is Natalia Carvajal of Costa Rica who was crowned on 14 April 2016 in Giza, Egypt.[4]
Competition[edit]
Miss Eco is an international beauty contest that began in 2015 under the name of Miss Eco Queen and in 2016 changed its name into Miss Eco Universe. More than 50 candidates compete for the title for several weeks. However, it has no affiliations with Miss Earth international pageant.[5]
Miss Eco is founded by media producer, Eco Beauty. The goal is to raise awareness about the environment and is organized as an event of international prestige, bringing together representatives of communities and cultures from all over the world. The delegates aim to be known of the environmental resources in their country, culture and international commitment.
The delegates meet and participate for 3 weeks in Egypt where they perform different activities, photo sessions, swimsuit parades, evening dress, national costume, interviews, trips to other cities near Cairo, rehearsals, and up to the final gala event.
The format of contest is similar to the other several competitions. The semifinalists are chosen by means of private interview conducted by the jury to the delegates and their behavior during the contest, in addition the winner of the prize to the Best Recycled Costume (Miss Eco Dress) will be automatically qualified to Top 16 semifinalists.
