Missouri Conservation Corps (MCC) is a nonprofit organization local to Columbia, Missouri that works on cutting bush honeysuckle growing in Kiwanis Park.
History
The Missouri Conservation Corps started as a volunteer effort to cut and remove bush honeysuckle from Kiwanis Park. Before the MCC was formed, a now-MCC board member lived across the street from the park, who had been working to remove the honeysuckle.[2]
Kiwanis Park restoration
The MCC (Missouri Conservation Corps) has been removing bush honeysuckle from Kiwanis Park since their first official workday in April 2021, which drew over 30 volunteers.[2] In October 2023, the MCC held their second annual native planting using trees and shrubs from Forest ReLeaf of Missouri.[3]
