Mithlesh Babu is an Indian Born Shooter who competes in the AR60 & FR3X40 event. he has won a Bronze medal at the KSS Junior Championships 2017. He is supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance Programme.
Early life and background[edit]
16-year old Mithlesh was born into a family of sportsmen. His grandfather was an Indian football player and his father represented his state Tamil Nadu in the same sport. Mithlesh, however, was drawn more towards the polished weapons of shooting than the muddy grounds and the rough and tumble tactics of football, since an early age of seven. Within six months, he won an inter-district title, showcasing his talents as a young shooter.
Career[edit]
Mithlesh already has more medals in his locker than most shooters his age. He has been part of the Indian youth squad for the last three years and trained at the Madurai Rifle Club in Tamil Nadu before moving to New Delhi. According to the senior coach Mr. Ramalingam, Mithlesh is no less than a child prodigy. Even though he is very young, Mithlesh has set clear goals for himself of reaching the top 8 before the 2018 Youth Olympics and win a medal there. Mithlesh looks up to Olympic Gold medalist Abhinav Bindra as a role model and is also a big fan of 18-year-old Chinese prodigy and World Champion Yang Haoran

- 2018: Finished 16th in the FR3X40 event at the Junior World Cup, Sydney[2]
- 2017: Bronze medal at the KSS Championships Junior
- 2016: Silver in youth and bronze in junior (10m air rifle) at Selection Trials 3, New Delhi
