Mitratech Holdings Inc., is a subsidiary of HGCapital[1] , a private equity investment firm with offices in London, Munich & New York[2] . Previous investors TA Associates,[3][4] retain a minority stake in the company.[5][6] It offers software and services for in-house legal professionals and companies.[7][8]

History[edit]

The company now known as Mitratech Holdings Inc., has been in the enterprise legal management business since its founding in Los Angeles in 1987.[9] It is now headquartered in Austin, TX.[10] Initially, it began as a law practice management company to assist legal professionals and companies in all states and was one of the early technology company to offer a web-based case management software for the legal industry. With its first successful product, the company started working on developing legal management software and services for departments of varied sizes and responsibilities, in order to automate the entire law process in legal departments.[11] The company gained major clients in the United States and Europe due to its paperless solutions.[12][13]

As of 2015, Mitratech focused on delivering matter management, spend management, e-Billing,[14] legal hold, and GRC technologies to serve general counsel, legal administrators and attorneys.[15][16]

  • In 1991, Mitratech launched TeamConnect software for legal matter management and spend management solutions.[18]
  • In 2011, Mitratech was acquired by Vista Equity Partners, an American private equity firm focused on software and technology-enabled businesses. Mitratech becomes a fully owned subsidiary company of Vista Equity Partners.
  • In 2012, Mitratech moves its headquarters from Los Angeles to Austin
  • In 2014, Mitratech acquires LT Online Corporation, a provider of legal management software based in East Meadow, NY. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.[19]
  • In 2014, Mitratech establishes its London office.[12][20]
  • In April 2015, The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) partners with Mitratech for its ACC Alliance Program.[21]
  • In July 2015, Mitratech acquires Bridgeway Software[22] and CaseTrack,[10] providers of enterprise legal management software.
  • In September 2015, TA Associates announced acquisition of Mitratech from Vista Equity.[23]
  • In April 2017, HGCapital announced majority investment, with TA Associates retaining minority stake[1]
  • In 2019, a new office called COE has started in India.
