Addson Harry MphondaHarry Mphonda is the author of miyambi-yatsopano/oclc/4912435[1] (literally translated as New Proverbs) is a book authored by Harry Addson Mphonda which was first published by Macmillan in 1965. The book has for a long time been used as a textbook for secondary school education in Malawi and has traditional tales in the vernacular Chichewa much as it is actually in Chinyanja. A copy of the book is available in the library of the National Archives of Malawi, classified under Customs and Folkrole. He also wrote a number of articles for magazines.

The author was born in 1921 in Zomba and died on 18th September, 2004. He was a teacher by profession and after attending a short course at Western Michigan University[2] became an Inspector of Schools ending up as a District Education Officer and therefore served Government in a number of districts including Zomba, Blantyre, Chikwawa, Nsanje, Mzimba, Karonga, and Machinga. He later worked as a Personnel Manager for Southern Bottlers, Coca Cola suppliers in Malawi.
