Mojtaba Rezvani (born November 10, 1979) is a filmmaker from Tehran, Iran. He is the director and editor of Iranian documentary cinema.

Education[edit]

He is a graduate from Islamic Azad University, Central Tehran Branch in German translation major. He learned filmmaking in the Iranian Youth Cinema Society in 2006.

Career[edit]

He began his cinematic work since 2005 managing the production of documentaries outside Iran, and producing the Comoros and the Ivory Coast Documentary Films in the African continent on the order of French TV and Kenya documentary on the order of English Sahar Universal Network TV in 12 episodes and 380 minutes in English and French in the World Services Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Broadcasting.

In 2008, with his brothers, he founded a media production organization called Talie Tasvir Parsian, aka TTP. After establishing the filmmaking company and receiving the permit from the Cinematic Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, he took up his media career and this time managed the production of a part of the international and massive spiritual songs documentary by producer Mohammad Ali Hussein Nejad and reliance on the artistic supervision by the Iranian cinema Director Mr. Majid Majidi.

In this big project, along with his brothers, he managed the production of documentary films in 8 countries, five of which, African and 3 Asian. A project that was completed over a period of 60 working days. The filming of this enormous project was carried out in the countries of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Comoros, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar, Sudan and Algeria, and during this period, they met with fifty traditional music groups and readers from these countries, and with their participation The great puzzle documentary for Mohammadi songs was more complete. This project was one of the most difficult and most massive projects that Mojtaba Rezvanimanaged to manage production with his team.

He is currently the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Media Productions Corporation, TTP under the brand Rezvani Films.

Entry into the arena of directing and editing films in documentary cinema[edit]

After gaining some experience in producing documentary films that he himself managed to produce, he decided to continue to work as a director and editor of the cinematic section considering the prominent cinema directors as symbols. Since 2009, he has directed guest documentaries including tropical wounds, from Joan's blood, Yusuf from Qom and Thai adventure in countries such as Iran, Myanmar, Thailand, India and Nigeria.

1- Guest documents the story of the long journey on foot to Iran's Mashhad taken by the pilgrims of the eighth Infallible Shiite Imam, Imam Reza (PBUH). 2- The Tropical Wounds Documentary is a 3-episode documentary dealing with the issue of Muslim slaughter in the province of Arakan by extremist Buddhists in Myanmar. As the director of the documentary, Rezvani aims to address the audience with the consequences of religious prejudice and unacceptable behavior by biased religious figures, while at the same time addressing the audience's attention to the important message and the chief root of all religions in the world which is peace, kindness and equality.[1]

3- From the blood of Jaun is a documentary about the people of Nigeria. It continues to illustrate the life of Sheikh Ibrahim Yaqoub El Zakzaky and his activities. The peaceful coexistence and friendship of Nigerian Shiites with other religions in Nigeria is the main theme of the film.

4- Joseph of Qom the Captain of Thailand is a two- episode film each of which 42 minutes that was filmed in the cities of Lopburi, Ayutthaya and Bangkok in 2017. This film refers to the issue of emigration and examines the Iranian artwork and their cultural- artistic exchanges since four hundred and forty years ago. The story of Sheikh Ahmad Qomi, the first Iranian who travelled to Thailand and could manage to become the Prime Minister of the country.[2] Chao Phya Sheikh Ahmad Rattana Dhibodi[3]

5- Thailand Story was produced in Bangkok in 2016. It is a 42-minute episode about a group of youngsters who has been able to do important and influential activities in Thailand through the teamwork and unity that existed in the group.

By 2018, Rezvani has been able to produce a foreign documentary for 963 minutes.
