Mona Lisa "ML" Brookshire originally born Mona Lisa ML Blay-Miezah on May 8 is a Ghanaian-American CEO of ML4Lyfe Corporation; a recognized Brand Marketing company. She is also an International Public Speaker who has appeared on the TED platform,[4] a freelance writer, an author and a marketing maven[5] that recently starred as a Panel Expert in the PureFlix Inspirational and Motivational Self-Help Movie, Becoming the Keys(BTK).[6]
She starred as the First Black African Female to portray the role of a Seasoned Life Coach and Panel Expert in the movie, Becoming the Keys with the likes of Jack Canfield, Joseph Vitale, Brian Tracy, and other renowned motivational speakers.[7]

ML is the host of her own Social Media Influencer Show named The ML4Lyfe Talk Show (sponsored by The Dangote Group and Mercedes-Benz Africa's M-Series for the ML fleet of vehicles) on radio, and Facebook Live as well as other rebroadcast portals.[8]
ML was discovered on her Talk Show in 2018; and was immediately picked up by the President of the Las Vegas Convention Speakers Bureau (LVCSB) and Movie Producer, Robin Jay to star in "Becoming the Keys".[9] In May 2018; ML joined a Panel of Experts and Coaches to star in the Self-Help movie trilogy.
Also a Social Media and Marketing Director and Brand Strategist, ML has worked with several Fortune 500 companies including Bank of America, United Parcel Service, AT&T and GE. Her work resulted in a full-page feature on page 108 of the August 2008 edition of Ebony Magazine.[10] that had President Barack Obama on its front page.
Early Years[edit]
ML was born in Accra, Ghana West Africa to the Late Dr. John Ackah Blay-Miezah Sr., a notable business magnate, and former presidential candidate in 1979 known to be a controversial public figure in Africa [11] whose wife at the time was Gladys Naana Blay-Hill née DesBordes. Her late father died on 30 June 1992. His death was shrouded with much controversy over the Oman Ghana Trust Fund and his alleged access to a billion dollar fund.[12] Her father's death led ML into a difficult life in her teens until her mother went into politics in Liberia under the government of President Charles Taylor (Liberian politician).
ML believed education was the "trump card" out of any kind of poverty or lack; so she took her academic studies seriously. She has been an American Citizen since 2008. ML won several awards and prizes throughout her years in elementary School all throughout her High School, and eventual education at the undergraduate and graduate level in Atlanta, Georgia on a full academic scholarship.[13]
She also worked at GLO Mobile Ghana Ltd., Ghana Telecom University and Daikin Ghana briefly in Ghana, before returning to America in 2016.[14]
She continues to work as a Brand Marketing Consultant in Houston, Texas; as well as a Global TED Public Speaker, an Activist, and a Mental Health Advocate.
Awards and Recognition[edit]
In her college years, ML was awarded by Governor Roy Barnes of Georgia (U.S. state) for her involvement in the Junior Achievement and Hands on Atlanta Community Service programs whilst enrolled full-time at Spelman College in 2000.[citation needed]
She was also a Presidential Awardee, UPS Community Service Scholar, Golden Key Honoree, Sigma Tau Delta Awardee, Honor Roll Student, America's Who is Who Honoree, National Honors Society Recipient, Dean's List Honoree in her undergraduate studies on full-academic scholarship; as well as a Whirlpool Journey to Excellence Honors Student on another full-academic scholarship for her Master's Degree in 2003 at age 25.
From 2008, Ebony Magazine, Canoe Magazine, CNBC Africa, Business Week, Silo Breaker, Mobile News, Technology E-Columns, Green Telecom Publications, Golf 100 Magazine, Energy Harvesting Journal, Reader's Digest, MENSA USA Publications, African Business News, Marketing Africa Magazine, African Woman Magazine and other noteworthy media conglomerates featured ML in their magazines, articles and on their TV networks for her work in Marketing Consultancy.
As Chief Marketing Officer (Expatriate) at Uganda Telecom - a Lap Green telecommunications conglomerate in East Africa - ML was part of a campaign that allowed Ugandans to utilize solar phones for the larger populace that lived and worked with no electricity. SIM Cards were locked to the Uganda Telecom Kasana phones so that everyone in the poor electricity zones was forced to either switch to the UTL network or purchase a secondary line/phone in order to enjoy what the company had afforded to ALL Ugandans at the time in East Africa.[15]
At 32, ML was the youngest female member of the C-Level Executive Suite at Uganda Telecom after being promoted from Marketing Director to CMO after 3 months in the Corporation as a U.S. Expatriate Hire.[16]
In 2015, she began her illustrious relationship with TED.com as a TEDxAccra Speaker at the National Theater of Ghana where she won a certificate of achievement for her speech, "Drown Out the Naysayers". She still speaks for TED globally and in her present home city of Houston, Texas where she coordinates conferences locally and internationally.[17]
Personal life[edit]
In February 1999, ML married Alvin Ray Brookshire from Louisiana and they have 2 children named Skye and Raine Brookshire aged 19 and 16 respectively as of the year 2019.
