Meg Gentle

Meg Gentle was president and CEO of Tellurian Inc.,[1] a company that is building a natural gas business including the development of Driftwood LNG, a 27.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility.[2][3]

Education[edit]

Gentle has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from James Madison University (1996) and an MBA from Rice University (2004).[4]

Early career[edit]

Gentle began her career as an energy market analyst at Pace Global Energy Services, where she worked two years.[4] She joined Anadarko Petroleum in 1998, where she worked the next eight years in international business development and strategic planning.[4] After completing her master's degree, Gentle worked at Cheniere Energy from 2004 to 2016.[4] She served in other various capacities, including as executive vice president – marketing (working in London, England), senior vice president-marketing, senior vice president and chief financial officer, senior vice president-strategic planning & finance, vice president of strategic planning, and manager of strategic planning.[4] As chief financial officer, she managed Cheniere's liquidity and arranged financings that helped the company switch from a liquefied natural gas import strategy to an export strategy.

Tellurian Inc.[edit]

On August 31, 2016, at the age of 42, Gentle became president and CEO of Tellurian Investments Inc., a private company founded by Charif Souki and Martin Houston.[5] On February 10, 2017, the company became public by closing its reverse merger with Magellan Petroleum Corporation, and began trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol TELL.[6]

As president and CEO, Gentle is responsible for the firm's strategic and daily operations. This includes development of Driftwood LNG, a 27.6 million tonne per annum (mpta) LNG export facility proposed to begin producing LNG in 2022.[6][3]

Awards and recognition[edit]

Meg and her husband, Kirk Gentle, were recognized in April 2017 for their past and ongoing work at Casa de Esperanza de los Niños "the House of Hope for Children". Casa de Esperanza provides a safe place for children in crisis due to abuse, neglect or the effects of HIV. The organization provides residential care, and coordinates medical and psychological services according to the needs of each child.
