Monique Steyn is an Afrikaans singer and pianist. During the first season of Idols South Africa, she finished in the top-fifty of the candidates but was eliminated during the ninth semi-final.[1][2] Her debut album, entitled Ek val vir jou ('I Am Falling for You'), was released in 2010.[3] Her debut song, Sê My Hoe ('Tell Me How'), is also available on both the CD of the seventh volume of Die Grootste Afrikaanse Sokkie and also on the DVD 30 Goue Sokkie Treffers.
Monique was the mentor for Wilha Carstens and Demi Lee Moore on Die Kontrak ('The Contract'), a reality TV music competition show on VIA in South Africa. Wilha was unsuccessful; however, Demi Lee Moore won the competition and received the one-million Rand contract for the ultimate winner. Monique Steyn later performed a cover of Cam's "Diane" with Moore.[4][5]
