Morar is a Subcity in Gwalior city's metropolitan area in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It lies 6 km east of Gwalior Junction Railway station and just 2 km from Birlanagar Railway station. Morar is the biggest metropolitan area[peacock term][according to whom?][citation needed] in Gwalior city other than[clarification needed][dubious ] Lashkar Subcity and Gwalior subcity.

Demographics[edit]

As of 2011 India census,[1] Morar had a population of 553,673. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Morar has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 87%, and female literacy is 69%. In Morar's 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Morar has a number of colleges and school including Army Public School, Gwalior , St. Paul's, S.L.P College, Aditya college, Jiwaji University, Amity University Gwalior. Gwalior Airport also comes under the metropolitan region, which is 12 km away from centre of Morar. Morar Cantonment is also a part of Morar which is one of the biggest cantonment in MP. Morar has a number of entertainment centres like Baaz Cinema, Shri Talkies, Sun city amusement and water park etc.
