Morgan Goldman
Morgan Goldman is an American soccer player and American Flag Football player from Coral Springs, Florida. For Soccer she has played as a Striker, Midfielder. Forward and Outside Back for Club Teams Coral Springs United, AC Delray Rush, Wellington Wave and FC Prime as well as being on Varsity Marjory Stoneman Douglas for High School since Freshman Season. For Football Morgan has been a standout performer in the Parkland Flag Football League as well as captain and starter for the Stoneman Douglas Flag Football Team since Freshman Year.[1][2]
SOCCER
For Club Soccer, Morgan has had a brilliant start to her career. After a good run in the Coral Springs Rec Program, Morgan was scouted and asked to join the local competitive travel team. In just her 1st full-time travel season (2018-2019), she led her team with 23 goals. After the season the club merged with FC Prime and Sunrise Sting, to become Sunrise Prime FC where she made a higher-level team for the 2019-2020 season. Despite being on a new team with new teammates she was able to lead her team with 11 assists, showing her versatile play-making ability. The team disbanded after the Covid shortened 2019-2020 season when FC Prime and Sunrise decided to break up into 2 clubs. Because of the uncertainty, Morgan signed on with Rush Soccer and joined the AC Delray Rush soccer club. In her first year with AC Delray Rush, Morgan was selected as a member of the Rush South Region National Team and played in the Jefferson Cup and a couple of other tournaments with the Florida Rush '06 ECNLR team. For the season, she would go on to score 9 goals, 18 assists, and was 2-2 in PK in shootouts helping the team to the championship in the PBG Tournament as well as the SFUYSA U15 D1 playoffs. After the season Morgan wanted another challenge and this time tried out and made the team for the State Champion Wellington Wave SC ‘06 ECNLR team where she played in the ECNLR league as well as in several top showcase tournaments adding 6 goals and 2 assist while playing attacking midfield.. Sadly, this team would break up due to Wellington dropping 1 of 2 teams for the age group and over half the team moving to the Palm Beach Predators GA Team, which was 2 far to travel for Morgan. Morgan would yet again seek out another challenge. and decided to go back to FC Prime who was the #1 club in the state for getting players recruited to college. Because of her goal to play at the next level, this was a natural fit for her to join this club and play for Lynn University Head Coach John Markey. For the FC Prime 2006 ECNLR Team, she mainly plays defensive midfield after playing exclusively as an attacking player previously. She ended up with 1 goal and 4 assists. Morgan was also given the chance to play up with the 2004/2005 team and in the 3 games she played with them added another 2 goals and 1 assist playing mainly as a striker and forward. This again shows her ability to fit in and adapt to any team situation needed.[3][4][5][6][7]
For school soccer, after her decorated middle school career, where she led her team to a 30-5 record, while scoring 35 goals and adding 30 assists all while being a 3-year starter, 2-time Captain for both the Soccer and Flag Football teams, as well as being named Athlete of the Year during 8th grade, Morgan enrolled at national soccer powerhouse Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where she made the team her Freshman year as a midfielder. At Douglas, she is coached by Laura Rountree who has won 4 state championships and won close to 500 games in her 35-year career. In her first season, Morgan had an assist in both the District Semi-Finals and in the district finals and ended the season with 2 assists.[8] (Tied for 3rd on the team for the covid shorten season). Morgan also helped lead the Lady Eagles to win a District and Regional Championship and a berth in the Florida Class 7A State Semi Finals before losing 2-1 on a controversial goal. She became a starter her sophomore season and scored her 1st goal with a banger from 30 plus yards out vs Ft. Lauderdale on 11/8/2021. Morgan would score 3 goals and 3 assists in her sophomore season [9]and again help lead her team to another District Championship and the State Tournament sweet 16 run.[10] [11] Douglas is one of the top Public-School programs in Florida. Again in 2022-2023 Stoneman Douglas was a top team in the nation winning their District for the 5th straight time. [12] [13]They would go on to the Class 7A Regional Finals where they would again lose a controversial game 1-0 to Cypress Bay. Morgan finished her Jr season playing defensive midfield and added 1 goal and 6 assists.[14][15][16][17]
Morgan can play Forward, Midfield, Wing, or Fullback and is known as a very versatile unselfish player. She has excellent vision and sees the field well setting up teammates for easy chances with clean, accurate passes. She is comfortable on the Left or Right side and has no problems stepping up for PK, Corner Kicks, or Free Kicks if needed. She is a strong player who is hard to knock off the ball and has very deceptive speed and is always one of the fastest players on the field when she has a chance to open up. Morgan has a good work rate and is a great communicator that helps organize and direct teammates when needed.
Morgan would bring value to any team she is on and has proven repeatedly that she can compete and hang with the best.[18][19][20][21]
FLAG FOOTBALL
Morgan started playing Flag Football in 2017 at the age of 12 when she signed up to participate in the Parkland Flag Football League. She was a natural and took to the sport right away. Playing Safety and WR she led her team to the playoff championship in her first season. After enjoying the sport so much, she decided to try out for the Coral Springs Middle School team. Despite being one of only 2 6th graders to join the team she would earn a starting job. Although she was one of the youngest on the team, she would be an integral part and help the team to a semi final playoff run. Moran scored the only TD in the semifinal loss to powerhouse Lauderdale Lakes with a 75 yard catch and run. Morgan would go on to captain the team in her 7th and 8th grade season and again would help the team reach the playoffs while playing QB, WR and LB. Marjory Stoneman Douglas was not known for its Flag Football Team, but that would change when Morgan started 9th grade. After a successful rec season where she was defensive MVP of the league and again led her team to the Championship Game, she was determined to continue the sport she loved she made sure the High School was able to get enough girls to join by getting several of her Parkland Flag teammates to join as well. She would go on to captain the team and play QB, RB and LB her freshman season. For her sophomore season,[22]she again was able to lead her rec team to a championship game appearance and again would go on to captain the High School team.[23] This season turned out to be a little better as Douglas made the playoffs for the first time in school history. Morgan would go on to be one of the leaders in the state of Florida in tackles and finished 3rd overall in tackles per game. In her junior year, Morgan would lead her rec team the Panthers to a championship game appearance, this time winning the Super Bowl 18-0 over the Steelers. Morgan again was MVP for the team leading the Defense with 2 pick 6’s. The High School season again was a success for Morgan as she yet again was one of the leaders in the state for tackles per game at 8.9 and led the nation in punting with a 45.6 yard average.[24] Morgan won the Parkland Flag Football Schorship award given annually to the top player who has excelled on the field, in the classroom and in the community.[25][26][27][28]
Education

Morgan is a member of the National Honor Society.
