Luke Robert Reynolds (born February 19, 1991) better known by his stage name Morrison Machiavelli (formerly known as Excel) is an American rapper, songwriter and record producer.[1] He is one half of the duo Pharaomones with King Kamaal.[1] He is also one half of the duo Arch Nemesis Project under the pseudonym Khemistro alongside Black Mag!ck, known as Count Blackula. He has been cited by City Pages saying his music “possesses a metaphysical element that even Mikey [Eyedea] didn’t shoot for.”[2] Morrison is the founder of Prosaic Minds (Record Label) and Progress Foundation 501(c)3 organization.[1][3][4][5][6]

Early-Life[edit]

Born and raised in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota, he is currently based in Los Angeles, California. Beginning to write and record music seriously while enlisted in the United States Marine Corps stationed in Okinawa, Japan, intent on pursuing a career in Hip Hop motivated by cross-cultural communication experiences and building relationships with people.[1][7] He explains that his music is a form of channeling experiences intended to transcend healing processes and "ultimately lead us to learning more about ourselves."[7]

Morrison Machiavelli has dedicated efforts with Save the Kids from Incarceration grassroots organization becoming a volunteer and organizer working against police brutality.[8][4] He began working with the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center working with youth as a program director after volunteering for a year with the organization's program.[7][1] During the reconstruction of the Zulu Nation Omega Chapter (Twin Cities). He joined becoming an official member for one year before departing from the chapter during the allegations brought against Afrika Bambaataa. After various members of the chapter disband Morrison and other members co-founded the Universal Movement for the Advancement of Hip Hop (UMAHH).[1][7]
