Dawar Mahmood, better known as Mr Dawar is an independent Pakistani rapper from Lahore, Pakistan. Most of his lyrics are society-based and address social issues, which he uses in his music to awaken the public from a state of neglect. That's why he became notable through social media platforms; his maximum songs are in pure Urdu language. He uses daily routine words/slang which connect local listeners with his music, and most of the time his music gives motivation to listeners.
Early life
Mr Dawar was born on 23 December 2001 in Lahore, Pakistan. From the start, he developed a strong connection with deep, meaningful poetry/Gazal. He was 13 years old when he wrote his first Gazal and performed it in a school function. That was his first interaction with an audience, and from this, he decided to choose another way to convey the messages behind his poetry. Because he belonged to the slums area of Lahore named Garhi Shahu, which is now properly developed, it was very difficult at that time to choose a proper attention-grabbing hobby/passion for a rising kid, except for studies. But he shared his ideas with his parents and also showed them some of his work. They thought that this was just his temporary mindset, so they didn’t take it seriously and allowed him to continue, but advised him to always make his studies the first priority. At the start, he made random poetry videos and posted them on YouTube using random channels. After some time he started taking interest in Hip-hop music and wrote his first song using his poetry skills, and began to study online about music-making, mixing, and producing, etc. At the age of 15 years, he learned almost everything about music development (Vocal processing, music producing, etc.) by only using the support of the internet. He also started earning at this age by giving his services online.
Rapping career
In 2020, Mr Dawar released an album named Asrar-e-Fikar (Secrets of thoughts). In this album, he proved how poetic rap can be done in a poetic way, using his poetry skills and self-learned music skills. His album is officially available on all digital music platforms.
