Muḥammad Mubārak Ullāh an-Nawākhālwī (Bengali: মুহাম্মদ মোবারক উল্লাহ, Arabic: محمد مبارك الله النواخالوي, Persian: محمد مبارک الله نواخالوی) was a Bengali Islamic scholar and muhaddith.
Early life and education[edit]
Muhammad Mubarakullah was born to a Bengali Muslim family in the village of Mandari in the Lakshmipur subdivision of Noakhali district, then under the Bengal Presidency of the British Raj. He completed his Islamic studies up until Mishkat al-Masabih from Noakhali Islamia Madrasa.
He then set off for India where he enrolled into Darul Uloom Deoband, an Islamic university in Saharanpur district from which the Deobandi movement emerged from. At Deoband, he took on Hadith studies under Anwar Shah Kashmiri and others, where he studied the Sihah as-Sittah.
Career[edit]
After returning to his home country of Bengal, Mohammad Mobarak Ullah became a teacher of Hadith at the Noakhali Islamia Madrasa. He died in the year 1381 AH (approximately 1961 CE) in East Pakistan.[1]
