Mudassir Idris Abubakar (born 29 January 1975) is Nigerian business magnate and investor.[1] He is the founder and managing director of Mudassir and Brothers, a Nigerian conglomerate concentrating on producing and distribution of Textile, furniture, electronics and kitchenwares.

Early life[edit]

Mudassir Idris Abubakar was born in Goron Dutse, Dala Local Government Area, Kano State, to late Alhaji Idris Abubakar and Binta Muhammad. He started his business career at the age of twelve, where he follows his father to the market. After completing his secondary school, he was taken to his uncle who is also a businessman at Kantin Kwari market Kano where he continues learning business.

Business career[edit]

Mudassir Idris Abubakar started right from the grassroots as local market laborer, most time hawking within and beyond the market premises. In 1997, Mudassir reached initial age of his business milestone, as a sole trader with mini shop at Kantin Kwari market Kano State, selling textile and fabric materials. He later expanded to selling electronic products, furniture, and kitchenware.[1] Mudasir now own and operate 14 malls in eight states among which are Kano,[2] Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Gombe, Adamawa, Abuja, as well as an online marketplace. In 2019, he commenced the process to establish Textile manufacturing company in worth $50 millions in Kano State.[3][4]

Philanthropy[edit]

Mudassir has directed much of his philanthropic efforts towards assisting the children of the poor and members of his immediate community through the provision of educational scholarship,[5] capital for small and medium scale businesses, assisting the sick and others. In response to Covid 19, Mudassir have renovated Dawakin Kudu isolation center established by Kano State government[6]
