Muhammad Haneef Abdul Majeed (6 June 1965 – 12 November 2025) was a prominent Pakistani Islamic scholar, author of numerous reformative books, and an educationalist. He was the founder of several institutions, including Madrasa Bait-ul-Ilm and the Al-Badr Islamic School system in Karachi.[1]
Early life and education
Muhammad Haneef Abdul Majeed was born in Karachi. He received his initial education at Grand Fox School before enrolling in Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia, Banuri Town in 1977. He graduated from the Dars-e-Nizami course in 1983.[2]
He studied Hadith under several distinguished scholars, including Mufti Wali Hasan Tonki (Grand Mufti of Pakistan), Maulana Misbahullah Shah, and Maulana Idris Meerthi.[3]
Career
For one year after his graduation, he was a teacher at Jamia Uloom Ul Islamia Allama Binori Town, Karachi.
In 1991 and 1992, he also served as a teacher of 'Mishkat al-Masabih' at Dar Ul Uloom New Castle, South Africa.[4]
In 1995, he founded Madrasa Bait-ul-Ilm. This was followed by the establishment of the Al-Badr Islamic School in 1997. In 2006, he founded the Maktab Taleem-ul-Quran Trust.[5]
Literary works
He authored many books focused on social reform and religious guidance.[6] His works are archived in major Islamic libraries and platforms like Rekhta.[7] Some of his most famous works include:

Death
He passed away on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, in Karachi at the age of 60.[2]
