Muhi Heib (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.; born 24 October 1995) is a Palestinian-Israeli documentary filmmaker, editor and television creator from the Arab community in Israel. His work focuses on identity, women’s rights, human rights, social issues and organised crime in Arab society in Israel. His films and investigative work have been broadcast by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation and have generated extensive public and media attention.[1]

Early life and education

Heib was born and raised in Shefa-'Amr in northern Israel.[2] He studied film and television engineering at Tel-Hai Academic College and began his professional career at Topline Communication, directing and editing news broadcasts for Channels 2 and 10 in northern Israel.

Career

Heib has directed and edited dozens of films, true-crime programmes and investigative reports for both Hebrew- and Arabic-language broadcasting, including Kan 11 and Makan 33.[3] He is also a lecturer in video editing at the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School preparatory programme in Jerusalem.

Zman Emet investigative reports

Heib is a director and editor on the investigative documentary series Zman Emet ("Hour of Truth") on Kan 11. His reports include:

  • Unit Seif (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist., Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) – combating organised crime in Arab communities.
  • The Security and Education Apparatus – on Shin Bet involvement in Arab education institutions.
  • Without a Safe Shelter (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist., Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) – on lack of civil-defence protection for Arab localities in the “Iron Swords” war.[5]
  • Between Nationalism and Equality – on the Druze community’s struggle for equality.
  • The Qatari Money (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) – tracing Qatari funding in Arab society.
  • Additional investigative reports covering relations between Israel and Arab-language media, and foreign funding.

Built with Blood (2024)

In 2024, Heib directed Built with Blood, a documentary exposing fatal construction-site accidents in Israel and their impact on Arab workers.[6] It has been used in workplace-safety training programmes.

End of a Woman (2025)

In 2025, Heib created and directed the true-crime docuseries End of a Woman (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.), reconstructing stories of murdered Arab women through AI voice recreation.[7] The series received major media attention and public debate.[8]
