Mukesh Patel (Born 9 January 1970) is a Surat based Indian business magnate and philanthropic social activist, who is the director of Hindva Group,[3][4][5][6] Also known as MK Group (Past: M.Kantilal group). The group has a presence in several locations of India such as Surat, Ahmedabad, Porbandar and Mumbai, in the businesses of Diamond, Real Estate, Hospitality, Textiles, Mining, Pharma and Education. He has been guiding Hindva Group for over three decades and has grown the Group to emerge as one of the largest and globally renowned Group of India.[7][8][2][9]

Personal life[edit]

Mukesh was born on 9 January 1970 in Paravdi Village of a Bhavnagar district in the state of Gujarat, India, to a farmer family, Manjibhai Patel and Laxmiben Patel. After the birth of Mukeshbhai, His father Manjibhai came to Surat with his family from their small village 'Nani Maal' located near the Palitana. He studied up to SSC in Surat and then joined the father's diamond business. Mukesh then married to Harsha and the couple has two sons[8][2]

Career[edit]

In the Mid of the 80s in Surat, Mukesh joined his father's business of Diamond and after some time working in Surat, He then moved to the Mumbai to grow up the group's business and lived there for the 25 years.[8][2] Then after, He came back to Surat in 2010. Currently, His group is active in the multiple businesses such as Diamond (Carbon Creation), Real Estate (Hindva Builders), Hospitality (The World Hotel Apartment), Textile (Riya Trendz & Vritika Lifestyle), Mining (Valbaux Minetech),[7][8][2] Education (Ashadeep Group of Schools) and Pharmaceuticals (Greenkem Organics). Presently, apart from overseeing group companies, he is also active in Social Welfare activities.[9]

PM Modi's Suit Auction[edit]

In the February - 2015, The Auction for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Monogrammed Suit that he wore during his meeting with US President Barack Obama was held in Surat where Mukesh had made bids of Rs 1.39 crore, Rs 1.41 crore and finally Rs 5 crore, but last bid was not held valid since the deadline had passed and at the end, The other Surat-based diamantaire Laljibhai Patel was announced as a winner of the coveted Suit by the District Collector of the Surat, Mr Rajendra Kumar. The money generated from the auction was utilized for the Prime Minister’s ‘Clean Ganga Mission'.[10][11]

Patidar reservation agitation[edit]

Patidar reservation agitation Started in July 2015, the people of India's Patidar community, seeking Other Backward Class (OBC) status, held public demonstrations across the Indian state of Gujarat. After the BJP MP Vitthalbhai Radadiya had announced that his role as a mediator has come to an end,[12] Mukesh along with his friend Mahesh Savani who is also a Surat-based Multi-industrialist have worked as a mediator between the Government of Gujarat and Hardik Patel who was running the Patidar reservation agitation and when he was in Lajpore jail of Surat. Mukesh Patel also played a key role to release Hardik Patel from Surat Jail.[13][14][15][16] However, After getting the unexpected demands from the Hardik, Later the dispute between the Mukesh and Hardik came out and the two were separated from each other[17][18][19][20][21][22]
