Multiverse (formerly WhiteHat) is an educational technology (edtech) start-up that provides apprenticeships in the UK and USA, specialising in data and tech.

The company has trained more than 10,000 apprentices.[4]

The company was judged to be "Outstanding" in its most recent (July 2021) inspection by Ofsted.[5]

History[edit]

Multiverse was founded as WhiteHat in 2016 by Euan Blair and Sophie Adelman.[6] In 2018, the company announced a $4 million seed round led by Silicon Valley investor Lightspeed Venture Partners.[7]

In September 2021, Multiverse raised $130 million in a Series C raise at a valuation of $875 million. In June 2022, Multiverse raised $220 million in a Series D raise at a valuation of $1.7 billion.[8]

In 2022, the company became the first solely apprenticeship provider to receive powers to award degrees.[9][10]

In 2023, the company moved headquarters to Paddington, London.[11]
