On the evening of Saturday, February 6, 2021, 26-year-old Yale School of the Environment graduate student Kevin Jiang was shot and fatally wounded in his vehicle in the East Rock neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut. Pan Qinxuan, a 29-year-old graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who was last seen in Georgia, was named as the primary suspect in his murder.[1][2]
Personal life[edit]
Kevin Jiang was born in Iowa City, IA in 1994, and attended high school at Maine South High School in Park Ridge, IL. He studied at the University of Washington, graduating in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies. Around this time, he joined the United States Army, but later transferred to the Army National Guard. In 2019, he moved to New Haven, CT to pursue a master's degree at the Yale School of the Environment.[3]
