R. Murukan Nair (born 25 May 1967), professionally credited as Murukan Kattakada, is an Indian poet, educator, and lyricist from Kerala who writes in Malayalam language. He has written more than 100 poems, and also writes lyrics for film songs.
Early life[edit]
Murukan Kattakada's real name is R. Murukan Nair.[1] He was born on 25 May 1967 to B. Raman Pillai and Karthyayini Amma at Kuchappuram village in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, India. He studied economics at Christian College, Kattakada and took post-graduation from University College, Thiruvananthapuram. He also holds M. Phil from the University of Kerala. Since 1992, he is working as a teacher.[2]
