Mutiara "Tia" Annisa Baswedan (born 3 June 1997) is an Indonesian lawyer, educator, and model.
Early life
Mutiara Annisa Baswedan was born on 3 June 1997 in Jakarta, Indonesia, as the eldest child and only daughter of the four children of Fery Farhati Ganis (b. 1971) and Anies Baswedan (b. 1969).[1][2] Her brothers were Mikail Azizi (b. 2000), Kaisar Hakam (b. 2005), and Ismail Hakim Baswedan (b. 2009).[1][2] In 2014, she followed a year-long student exchange program in Denmark through AFS and Bina Intercultural.[1][2] After graduating from SMA Labschool Kebayoran, Baswedan went to Faculty of Law at University of Indonesia (UI) and graduated in October 2020.[1][2] In 2018, she represented UI at National Model United Nations.[1][2] In 2019, Baswedan became one of the finalists for the ASEAN Indonesia Youth Ambassador.[1][2] She also won third place at the 21st Asian Law Students Association (ALSA) National English Competition.[1][2]
Personal life
Baswedan is married to Ali Saleh Alhuraiby, a physician graduate from University of Indonesia, at Putri Duyung Resort in Ancol, on 29 July 2022.[3] Their marriage was held with Yogyakarta culture and was attended by several guests, such as Quraish Shihab, Surya Paloh, Zulkifli Hasan, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and Sohibul Iman.[3]
Career
Baswedan started her career by founding Indonesia Mengajar, an organization that aims to send young teachers to various regions in Indonesia to carry out community service activities in schools for a year.[1][2] After graduating from University of Indonesia, she began to work as a trainee associate at Assegaf Hamzah & Partners for five months.[4] In December 2021, Baswedan began working at a law firm in South Jakarta.[4]
On 12 December 2023, Baswedan became a researcher analyst in the Anies-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) campaign team.[5] On 9 January 2024, she participated at Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) as a model by showcasing clothes made by local designer, Khanaan Shamlan.[6]
