N’jai Kunda

N'jai Kunda (name variants: Njie Kunda, Mai Kunda or Mali Kunda) is a locality in the West African state of Gambia.

According to a 2013 estimation, there are about 314 inhabitants living there; the result of the last published census in 1993 was 268.

N'jai Kunda is located in the Central River Division, in the Niamina East District, and lies on the left bank of the Gambia River. The village is about 1.8 kilometres from South Bank Road and is on a road leading to Mbaien Maka.

Places of interest[edit]

Two of the Senegambian stone circles are located in N'jai Kunda.[1] They consist of relatively large monoliths that are cited as the largest of the Senegambian stone circles, estimated to weigh around ten tons.[2]
