The Nigerian Association of Food Science and Technology Students (NAFSTS) is an umbrella body for Food Science and Technology, Food Science and Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science and Biotechnology, Food Science and Business Students in Nigeria.[1]

It is also the student arm of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST); the professional body of food science and technology practitioners in academic and industrial world.

The date of establishment is not documented but it has held 40 Annual National Conferences and Annual General Meetings across all the states of the Federation.

With over 53 Chapters in Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education across the nation; NAFSTS boasts of a total number of members not less than 7,000.

The association is currently presided over by Comrade Caleb Ifeanyi UDEH (Ifeanyi KOH), a 500 level student of the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

Zones and chapters[edit]

NAFSTS is divided into zones and chapters.[2]

The Zones being the six Geopolitical Zones of Nigeria as listed below:

  1. North Central
  2. North East
  3. North West
  4. South East
  5. South South
  6. South West

While the Chapters are the various institutions where food science and technology students are being studied. They include:
