Ricardo Alexander Neeley (born August 9, 1973) alias NRBARZ formerly known as Barz Noble, is a Bahamian-born hip-hop artist, lyricist, songwriter, poet, actor, and entrepreneur.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Getting his feet wet on the recording scale, he was introduced to a group called United, which later joined the FAM Records roster in 2003 and was featured on the DA FAM – “We Are Family” compilation album. After enjoying some exposure from the project, a full-length album was in the works, but due to some unforeseeable circumstances, the group disbanded and each member went their separate ways.[7][8][9][10][11][12]
Early Life
For NRBARZ, growing up in Nassau, New Providence in the Bahamas, his single mother played a vital role and influence in his life.[13][12]
Musical Career
After a brief stint with FAM Records and focusing further on his music aspirations, NRBARZ worked as a featured artist on several projects, “The New Breed” and “The Dunamus Ball” compilation projects, respectively, under Dunamus Soundz records headed by the Late Lavard “Manifest” Parks.[14][15][16][16]
In 2013, under his Theotopia Notes Publishing imprint, NRBARZ, under his former moniker Barz Noble, released his debut solo project “Symphonic Signatures,” entirely produced by Zoltan Johnson. It enjoyed some success across a number of publications and news outlets.[17][18][19][20]
In 2018, NR, under the former Barz Noble, teamed up with fellow artist Jessie Mcqueen aka Philocypha and released the 21/7 Mixtape, entirely produced by Todd Marshall of Empowermedia Music. In addition, the solo sophomore follow-up “S.C.O.A.P (Soul Chapters Of A Poetic)” was released within that same year, produced by Hashaun Adderley from Willis & the Illest band with co-production from Zoltan Johnson and Todd Marshall respectively. This body of work leaned more towards a soulful and jazz-oriented hip-hop album under his former moniker Barz Noble and earned him the Akademia Music Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Music Video for the song “Rainset” from that same album.[21][22]
Personal Life
NR’s religion is Christianity; he was raised Episcopalian and later exposed to the Brethren and Baptist denominations. He currently worships and is a part of a non-denominational fellowship in his hometown in the islands of the Bahamas.[23][12]
Aliases
NRBARZ’s past aliases and stage names were Delyricks-Barz Noble and Noble Barz, respectively.[24][25][26][11]
Legalities
Due to a Statement Of Opposition notification issued by lawyers representing Barnes & Noble chain of bookstores, a name change from Barz Noble and Noble Barz was advised. NRBARZ came about after much thought, and all past, current, and future releases reflect the same.[27]
